Last Day

It's Wed, 11:30 am here (Tues, 10:30 pm there) and we're starting to wind things down. Olivia has had a good morning, but oh my this sweet darling girl WANTS HER WAY, and she can really "turn it on and off". I'm not sure how much time we're supposed to giver her before we start cracking down.

We need to be out of our hotel at 4:00. It takes about 40 minutes to get to the airport, and our flight isn't until 10:30 pm on JAL (Japan Airlines). We're going to have a nice little wait! We still may go to the pool for a couple of hours this afternoon.

I'm posting our flight schedule to the right, and you probably won't here from us again until we arrive in Shreveport.

Olivia is about ready for a nap, so we're going to go pack while she sleeps (hopefully!).

See you on the other side!

Leah

Leah, As I write you are proabably at the airport waiting to board your flight home!!
I wanted to thank you for sharing your incredible journey with us. I have so enjoyed chcking in everyday (often multiple times), and reminising, laughing, sometimes crying, and watching your beautiful family grow. Olivia is such a gorgeous little girl. All of her features are perfect, and that smile is just too much!!!
She reminds me so much of our Wee. She started off reserved and shy, and then broke through her bubble into a cute and funny litttle character, who also wants things HER WAY! We noticed this within a few days in Thailand, and at first I tried to accomodate her, but unless it was exactly what she wanted the tantrum just got worse. We (dh and I) teamed up and agreed to not respond to the tantrum in any way until she was calm, ready to hug and be held. Each time we tried to console her during one of her 'moments' she was just working us, and would scream louder, at times when we were 'ignoring' her she would stop, look over at us and see if we were going to do anything, when we didn't, she would start all over again. I am relieved to say that within about 4-5 times of us not responding, the tantrums began to get shorter, and within days they were noticibly less frequent. Within about a week, we were down to 'maybe' two a week. Now it is very rare. I always hugged her and offered her other alternatives (fun ones) after the tantrum was over , just not what she originally wanted.
I think our babies have been loved and cared for so much, and yes a little bit spoiled by their foster families, but hey, the bright side is we know that these little girls were in homes that probably 'doted' on them and saw to their every need.
Your pictures are beautiful, especially at the park, and I love Olivia's pig tails!! She is just too cute!!
I know you must be so excited to get home to Ian, it's just a matter of hours now!
Congratulations on your new baby girl, we are so happy for you!!!
Safe travels, we are thinking of you,
Love,
Sharon (Holt family)

Leah,
Thank you for sharing your journey to Olivia. She's an absolute doll and Ian will be very excited to see you guys and meet his little sister. We have just began our process with Holt to adopt from Thailand. You've provided so much information about the actual process. Our blog is www.thailand4us.blogspot.com if you want to follow our process. Thanks!

Hey Brian and Leah,
Hope everything is going well for you and you made your flight back all safe and sound. It was a pleasure spending time with you and we are definitley both very blessed with beautiful children. I know you will be excited to see your son and introduce him to your new daughter. Stay in touch and get some sleep. The jet lag is killing Tracy and I but Seth has recovered well.
